In March of 2005, the Shanti Wellness Project will be six years old. In that time, we have provided over 8,000 treatments to needy women!!
In 2003, at the Prescott Resort, the Arizona Women's Cancer Network presented the SWP with the annual "Gift of Life" award. The Tucson based organization annually presents the award to a person or organization that has made an outstanding contribution to women's health care in Yavapai County. We are proud to be acknowledged by this important women's health organization. Thank you AWCN!!
Did you know that the SWP now has a video showcasing the project? The film was debuted at the AWCN award breakfast. It is a beautiful tale of our history, appreciation and caring, featuring practitioners and client testimonials. Our thanks and appreciation to Jerry Chinn for the excellent video production and filming. The film's video will be used for showing to potential donors and organizations interested in learning more about the Shanti Wellness Project.
In May, 2003, the SWP moved to a permanent home at 136 Grove Avenue. The move provides more space for practitioners and a warm, inviting atmosphere for clients. The building was originally a house, built in 1939. It has an inviting front porch and comforting backyard garden area, a large front room and full kitchen. We are happy with the homelike setting which helps women feel that they are in a trusting and comfortable place where they can share their stories and lives. This building has been an exciting step forward into a more secure future for the clinic. But, in order to pay for this progress, we have increased our fund raising efforts and grant searches.
There
is rental space available to holistic practitioners at the SWP,
